I gave birth on February 23, 2016 at 5:03 AM to a healthy baby boy, Izak, weighing 3,470 g and measuring 50 cm. This was my second birth. While I also have beautiful memories of my first birth (midwife Zlatka helped me then), this one was something special because of you.

My birth story began at 2:40 AM when my older son woke me up. I went to the bathroom, where I noticed that my mucus plug had come away, and then strong contractions immediately started coming every 1.5 to 2 minutes. Within an hour I was already in the delivery room. Because everything was happening very quickly and intensely, I was so grateful for your relaxed, cheerful, and extremely kind approach. You listened to my partner and me, immediately adapted to our way of communicating and our humor, so that despite the contractions, the atmosphere was relaxed and filled with laughter. Even though I didn’t have a birth plan with me, the birth went exactly as I had hoped. I am immensely grateful that you encouraged me to touch his head when it was outside. And immediately after birth you placed my baby boy on me and left us together long enough to get to know each other and successfully breastfeed for the first time. Honestly, I had read a lot about this, but I didn’t even dare to ask. And that’s why your understanding and knowledge truly made me so happy. I am most grateful that breastfeeding worked out for us, and I’m convinced that a big part of why it did can be attributed to that first contact (with my first son, this wasn’t made possible for me, breastfeeding never worked out for us, so I pumped milk for almost a year).
